We all have things we want.
Some of us have major goals we’d like to accomplish and a whole slew of smaller goals leading up to the big ones. Some of us want a new car, to travel more, or to learn new skills. No matter what it is that we want, it’s all on us to make it happen.
We could wait for the world to come to us and hope that the things we want eventually land in our laps. But that doesn’t seem like the most practical way of accomplishing anything. I don’t know about you but that waiting makes me anxious. I’d rather work towards those things that make me happy because life is better when it’s filled with happiness. And I don’t really want to risk those things not happening by just waiting around.
You see, happiness is life. Well, it’s really living life. Living life doesn’t mean existing. Plenty of people just exist but to be truly happy, we have to build something. All our actions should contribute to ultimately accomplishing the things we want in life.
For the longest time, I focused on my goals. I accomplished many of them and I still am accomplishing others. But then I met my husband and suddenly I realized our goals and desires in life began to meld with one another. Our goals compliment each other’s goals and now we are building something together.
This happens to many people…so we aren’t special. But it’s an incredible thing to know that others want to see you succeed.
In the end, it takes a fire we all have deep inside ourselves to push through the good and the bad times. It takes the vision to see, beyond the here and now, the potential future that awaits us. It takes a willingness to feel failure, rejection, and fear while also acceptance of those good aspects of our progress too.
Success happens to individuals willing to go out there and get what they desire despite all odds.
