Jason


Pennsylvania native Jason Knight enlisted in the Navy at 18 and served 6 years as a Hebrew Linguist. After encountering the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell law not once, but twice, Jason joined Servicemembers Legal Defense Network advocating for service members serving in silence.

Jason’s dedication and willingness to speak out against discrimination caught international attention on Good Morning America, CNN, Fox, NBC News, and several publications outside the US. Jason has been recognized as on of Instinct Magazine’s 2007 Leading Men and Out Magazine’s Out 100.

Brandy


Small town girl Brandy Jackson stepped out of her native state of Georgia and right into the arms of the Navy at the age of 19. Learning lessons upon lessons, Brandy is very aware of some of the most difficult struggles of coming out to both herself and her family and friends. Brandy has, after traveling around the US for 8 years straight, settled down in beautiful and sunny San Diego.

Even though writing is her passion, Brandy is currently working towards a degree in Video Game Programming at Devry University.

My Normal Gay Life is an unassociated non-profit organization dedicated to advocating normalcy in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.

Our Mission Statement

My Normal Gay Life is dedicated to revealing the sense of “normalcy” that encompasses the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and implementing a more positive view of the LGBT community through advice and support, resources for help, education, public advocacy, community involvement, and social events. 

Our History

My Normal Gay Life was created in January of 2008 by Jason and Brandy.

What We Do

My Normal Gay Life began its focus on offering advice to struggling LGBT individuals. Since it's founding, MNGL has begun hosting social events in the San Diego area, offering a blog with news and updates, and offering resources for help and ways for members to get involved in their own communities. MNGL strives to enhance the lives of the LGBT communityand will continue to bring more interactive content to its members including plans for educational outreach and involvement.
